EAOTC Project
THE EURASIAN OIL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR (EAOTC) PROJECT IS ONE OF THE STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT PROJECTS AIMED AT THE DIVERSIFICATION OF THE SOURCES AND ROUTES OF SUPPLYING OIL TO UKRAINE AND TRANSITING IT TO THE EU

The project provides for the transportation of oil through the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline and the southern line of the «Main Pipelines «Druzhba» to the Ukrainian Oil Processing Plants and the transit thereof to Central and Eastern Europe and to Poland after the extension of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline.

In 2004, PJSC ”Ukrtransnafta” and Polish PERN Przyjaźń created SARMATIA Joint Venture for the preparation of a business plan and raising investments for the construction of the Brody – Płock oil pipeline. In 2007, y State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, and Lithuanian Klaipedos Oil JSC joined the Venture.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY
The project is the most environmentally safe way of transporting the Caspian oil from the Black Sea basin, taking into account the overload of the Bosporus.
POTENTIAL REALIZATION
The route facilitates the realization of the oil transportation potential of Ukraine and the other countries on the principles being beneficial for the exporters and the importers.
EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT
The supply of quality sorts of the Caspian oil will facilitate the efficiency of the fuel and energy complex of the region.
BEGINNING OF TRANSPORTATION
Unlike other projects, the major part of the EAOTC oil transportation infrastructure is built and it is possible to start the transportation of oil from the Caspian region to the East and Central European markets.
